Luke Ward Conerly is my Great Grandfather. His daughter Elma Eloine Conerly was my Grandmother. Her son Eric Irvin Hill,Jr. was my father. I live in Farragut, Tennessee where I grew up as a child. My Grandmother Elma was born in 1888 and past in 1972. I grew up with my parents searching for this wonderful historial book. My dad would be happy to learn that I found it this year as well as a cousin Lee Jackson.

I am a descendant of Joseph Thornhill of Marion/Pike County. I have poured over the book many times. Even found a 3rd cousin at my church here in Knoxville TN - thanks to the book!

My family and I live in Sevierville Tennessee which is not far from Knoxville. When I was young my father, Walter, talked of the book Luke wrote but we never had a copy and none could be found. I was always fascinated by the stories it hekd. Several years ago I came upon one at a "Civil War Show" in Maryland. It was almost surreal finding this book. Always interested in hearing from distant relatives. Keith Conerly

Luke Ward Conerly is either my Grand Father or Great Grand Father. I am just now researching the connection. Thanks for putting this info online. It will save me much time.
